Description
The bitless bridle allows you to place the horse on the aids and "communicate" with it without forcing it to do so by signalling pain (even unintentionally). This not only creates better trust between horse and rider, but also allows the horse to move more freely and gracefully without a foreign object in its mouth and to concentrate more on the rider.
In contrast to a bit bridle or other bitless bridles, the bitless bridle does not apply pressure at specific points, but distributes the pressure evenly over the poll, the bridge of the nose and the gullets. Thanks to the special crossed reins, the aids given are easy for the horse to follow and the horses generally have no difficulty getting used to them.
We import the original Dr Cook Bitless Bridle directly from America.
How to determine the right size
So that you can select a Bitless Bridle that is suitable for your horse, we first ask you to determine the size with the help of the Bitless Bridle size chart:
Measure 4 - 5 cm above the corners of the horse's mouth. From this point, measure the circumference of the nose to determine the size of the noseband. From the same point (4 - 5 cm above the corner of the mouth), run your measuring tape along the side of the head over the poll (behind the ears) to the same point above the corner of the mouth on the other side of the face. This is how you determine the size for the straps.
If you find it too cumbersome to run the measuring tape over the whole head, you can also measure the distance to the centre of the neck (the point exactly in the middle between the ears) and then double it. Or you can use a piece of string and then measure the length of the string.
Use these two measurements to determine which Bitless Bridle size your horse needs.
Size chart
LEATHER | HOLDERS | NOSE RIBBONS |
small (Pony) | 74 - 99 cm | 46 - 56 cm |
medium (thoroughbred) | 84 - 109 cm | 48 - 61 cm |
large (warmblood) | 97 - 122 cm | 56 - 6 cm |
The reins are not included, but can be ordered separately.

1 review for Bitless Bridle „WESTERN LEATHER DELUXE“
Dear Mr Markus!
I am sorry for a big delay. I am writing to you (finaly) to thank you for all the help and advices given me about BitlessBridle and general about your help about horses. I also have to apologise to you that I doubt about your delivery of BB.
Me and my friend Karolina are doing great. She really likes the BB:)). At first she was quite nervous, she usually twist her head. I think that she is not used to strips under the jaw. But overall she is calm, obedient for all the things happening around her and what is more important for me, that you cant hurt her when she scares for something, when you grab for reins and pull.
I am sending you some pictures about me and her. They were taken 1 month ago, when we were performing a battle for 1st WW. At first I was in doubt if I would go or not, but then I went. She was fine, maybe more than other horses :)).
I do not know how she will accept the BB in future but for now we are doing great.
Thank you for all your help.
Best wishes, Tilen Marušič
